Local Cultures

As part of our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural work, we have recently held a Multicultural Market Place within the school.  As a school we have children and their families from all over the world.  We wanted our children to learn about the cultures of the children in our school so that they could understand that those cultures are in our local area and not just thousands of miles away.  We did this by working with families within the local community and asking them to work directly with our children by being part of eleven different stations.  The countries represented were: Bangladesh, France, Kenya, Japan, Wales, Portugal, England, China, Poland, Italy and Spain.  It was fabulous to be able to engage both children and their parents during this event.  Thank you to MEAS (Minority Ethnic Achievement Service) for helping with the organisation and for the great ideas too!
